FDES and EPD: product environmental declarations
FDES (French environmental and health declaration sheets) and EPD (Environmental Product Declarations) communicate a product's environmental impact based on an LCA.
FDES and EPD: what are they
An EPD is a standardised environmental declaration (ISO 14025) based on a life cycle assessment. In France, FDES are the EPDs of construction products, declared in the INIES database, and used for building environmental analysis (RE2020).
What they are for
They allow product comparison, feed eco-design and meet low-carbon construction requirements. UltraCarbon calculates the product footprint to ISO 14067, the basis of an environmental declaration.
